Gear up in AR Glasses and enjoy a unique, innovative, and immersive augmented reality tour of the archaeological site of Pompeii. Step into a different time through the power of AR and see what Pompeii was like before it fell to ruins.

Meet your tour assistant and learn about the itinerary and how to easily use your AR glasses. All itineraries and reconstructions have been developed by a team of archaeologists and experts to show how life in Pompeii was before the eruption. Your tour assistant will accompany and assist you during the tour.

Watch as your AR glasses create holograms that overlap the existing ruins, showing how the most significant temples, houses, squares, theaters, and buildings were before the eruption of 79 A.D. compared to now.

Meet your tour assistant at Porta Marina Inferiore, Piazza Esedra, outside the Vittoria Coffee Shop. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the departure time.

Know in advance:

  • Children younger than 8 years can't use the 3D technology. To get free tickets for children under 8, you must go to the ticket office before the tour starts and present a valid ID confirming the age of the child
  • If you book a reduced ticket you must show a valid ID or passport at the ticket office, otherwise, you'll be required to pay the full rate
  • If you choose the guided tour option, the entrance ticket is not included in the price, and you will have to purchase it separately
  • On the first Sunday of every month, entry to the Pompeii archaeological park is free of charge, so it's recommended to select the guided tour option without ticket included on these days
  • Once the tour is over and the augmented reality glasses are returned, you can stay in the archaeological park and explore the site independently
  • If you're running late, the tour assistant will wait for a maximum of 5 minutes. After that, the tour will start out of respect for the other participants
  • The tour will take place regardless of weather conditions, so please dress appropriately
  • AR glasses can also be worn by participants who already wear eyeglasses
  • Your tour assistant will welcome you, provide you with the necessary tour equipment, and accompany you throughout the entire tour
  • The tour does not include suburban villas (Villa dei Misteri)
  • Your audio guide will be in Italian, English, Spanish, French and German
  • To issue tickets for Pompeii, the full name and surname of each participant are required. Please provide all names at checkout

    Sabrina, la nostra guida, è stata fantastica. Al nostro arrivo e’ venuta giù tantissima pioggia, ha ritardato il più possibile per permetterci di fare la visita al meglio. Inoltre è stata veramente brava perché il gruppo era composto di italiani, una spagnoli e una francesi e lei ha tradotto tutto.
