Scopri Italica; la prima città autenticamente romana della Spagna, situata a soli 15 minuti da Siviglia. Fu fondata nel 206 a.C. dal generale romano Publio Cornelio Scipione Africano e diede i natali a due imperatori romani, Traiano e Adriano.
Attualmente chiamato Complesso Archeologico di Italica, i visitatori oggi possono divertirsi passeggiando per le antiche strade ed esplorando le rovine delle case e degli edifici pubblici. Uno spettacolo da non perdere è l'anfiteatro. Aveva una capacità di 25.000 persone ed era il terzo più grande dell'Impero Romano. Altri luoghi importanti sono i pavimenti a mosaico, il Traianeum, le statue di Diana, Venere e Traiano, i bagni pubblici e il teatro romano in parte ricostruito a Santiponce. Grazie al fatto che nessuna delle seguenti civiltà si è stabilita sulle rovine di Italica, la città è piuttosto ben conservata e merita una visita.
