During the darker winter months, Amsterdam will once again be transformed into a beautiful open-air light art museum for the 14th edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival.
Contemporary artists from across the globe create striking light installations that illuminate the city centre, turning familiar streets and canals into a canvas of creativity and wonder. Each piece invites reflection on the role of light in our lives, echoing traditions from fireworks and bonfires to lanterns and birthday candles.
One of the most enchanting ways to experience the festival is by taking a canal cruise that glides past the illuminated artworks. From the water, you’ll enjoy an uninterrupted view of the installations, many of which are positioned both on the quayside and directly above the canals.
