Meet your guide in Plaza de las Descalzas, right in front of the entrance door of the monastery. After a commentary on the facade and exterior, follow your guide inside the building and start exploring its beautifully decorated interiors.

Admire the cloister, where the Procession of the Holy Burial takes place every year on Good Friday. Marvel at paintings by famous artists from different periods and behold the main staircase, which many consider the true jewel of the monument.

Meeting point:
In Plaza de las Descalzas, just in front of the entrance door to the monastery, next to some benches and statues. Look for a guide with a sign or umbrella with IBE TOURS written on it.
What to remember
  • The guided tour does not include access to the church. Admission to the church is free every evening from 6.30pm to 8.00pm
  • Backpacks and large bags must be kept in the lockers (1€, not included)
  • Please note that the monument doesn't have public restrooms
  • The guided tour is available in Spanish only
