Why you’ll love this…
  • Join a boat excursion and discover Procida, the smallest of the Phlegrean Islands and the least contaminated by tourism
  • Explore the island of Ischia, the green island and thermal resort, almost as big as a city but quiet as only an island can be
  • Enjoy a number of stops to swim and snorkel, as well as snacks, drinks and a limoncello tasting offered on board
What to expect

Take a boat cruise to the small islands of Procida and Ischia on this full-day tour from Sorrento. Take in the scenic Mediterranean coast and local landmarks from the boat, then have time at each island for swimming and snorkeling. Your tour includes stops to swim and snorkel, snacks and beverages, and pickup and drop-off from Sorrento.

Your experience will start from a designated meeting point and you'll be transferred to the port of Piano di Sorrento. During the boat ride from Sorrento along the Gulf of Naples, you will see in the distance the small island of Nisida, the Phlegraean Fields, up to Capo Miseno, the extreme point of the Phlegrean peninsula.

Upon arrival in Ischia, you will start the tour from the Maronti beach, the longest on the island (almost 3 km). Then you will stop at the Green Cave, an incredible natural cave carved into the rock, inside which the light, reflecting into the water, creates a play of colors and shades of green. Right there you will stop to swim and snorkel, before heading to the Aragonese Castle, the symbol of the island in the world: a majestic fortress that stands on a huge rock, connected to the East side of the island by a bridge of 220 meters.

Then, you will make a stop at the port of Ischia for 3 or 4 hours of free time, in which you can explore the island on your own, maybe on board one of the iconic microtaxis (three-wheeled Apecar), a fun and unique way of touring Ischia and discover the main points of interest.

The tour continues towards Procida. While sailing around the island, you will also have a stop to admire: the islet of Vivara; Terra Murata with the former prison of Palazzo d'Avalos; Marina di Corricella, a wonderful village famous worldwide for its multicolored houses; the bay of Chiaiozza and much more. Also in Procida, you can swim in one of the many bays along the coast.

In Procida, you will have 1 or 2 hours of free time to visit the island by land in total autonomy.

Finally, you will leave Procida and return to Sorrento, with the final limoncello tasting.

Upon return to the port of Piano di Sorrento, the driver will take you back to the meeting point.

Nat Geo Day Tour - A Deep Dive into Ancient Roman Life: Pompeii & Oplontis

Begin with a short drive to the foothills of Mt. Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii, an ancient city preserved by volcanic eruption. Wander down cobblestone streets to the Forum, once the hub of Roman life. Follow ancient paths to grand spaces like the House of the Faun with its rich mosaics. Sit in the arena of the theater and study the colossal columns of the Basilica. You'll also visit areas of everyday life like the baths and taverns. Your final stop at this site will be Casa della Regina Carolina, one of the ancient city's largest homes located in an elite neighborhood near the Forum. Learn insights into the ongoing research started by National Geographic Explorer Caitlin Ellis Barret as you discover the house and the daily domestic activities of its vacationing socialites. After a light lunch, continue your journey to the port of Torre Annunziata, where you'll descend below street level to ancient Oplontis. As a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area and its two sprawling villas boast some of the best-preserved wall paintings of the Roman period. Your specialist archeological guide will offer historical, cultural and architectural context as you take in Oplontis' wonders. Once inhabited by the Roman elite, marvel at Pompeiian-style frescoes and mosaics, finished with deep azures, oranges, and sunny golds.
